And it has many features that I really like especially the Audio-In jack that allows one to play the MP-3 player but they could have made the cord longer as several inches is hardly enough to work with! The CD-player that plays Cds & CD-R/RWs with 5 preset sound modes is great & even better utilizing the remote control to navigate the system from the comfort of your patio chair! However, the sound has much work to be improved upon. As an avid listener of music with a keen ear for sound these speakers at best are OK, ( a 5 on the ten scale) at low volume levels but TERRIBLE at higher sound levels. It makes me cringe when I hear the bass trying to reproduce the signal levels correctly but it cant because of its poor quality design. Sony, I trusted in you in all the great products you have come out with over the years & now this? Unless my unit is defective which I really do not think so this is not a unit you will want to play your music with. If I had a chance to do it over I would certainly not purchase this boom-box. Sorry Sony but you can do much much better than that!!! Love ya Sony but buyers please Beware & heed my warning, keep looking.

The sound is the best I have heard from a portable stereo. The only thing that would make it better is if the window was a little bigger and brighter to see the station and if it were all black or silver so it would not be ugly.

However it does everything a decent boombox should, incl. the mp3 input (though rene is correct, the cord could be longer...) Sound is OK for me, and the variation in the woofer styling is good.
