To be honest, when I saw this cooktop on the computer, I didn't care for the look of it. There weren't many options to choose from and did eventually order it. I am SO glad I did! Everytime I walk into my kitchen, I just have to glance over to look at my new, beautiful cooktop! There isn't anything I don't like about it. It's easy to clean, it's so quiet and it looks great! I highly recommend it -

Disappointing cooktop

The KitchenAid cooktop is basically the same as the JennAir version. The specs are the same. I've had a Jennair down draft cooktop for the last 20 years. I've always thought it didn't get hot enough for searing food. It came with the house we bought and it has a down draft. When we remodeled our kitchen, we replace the JennAir cooktop. Tried to find other downdraft cooktops but, there just isn't many out there, so we thought we would be stuck spending a lot of money for another JennAir. When we saw the KitchenAid cooktop with the same specs as the jennAir but a lot less cost, I thought we've got a good deal. Yes, the price is more reasonable than JennAir's but the output of the burners are disappointing. It's supposed to have a 17,000 BTU burner, but it doesn't seem to heat up any faster or get any hotter than my old JennAir cooktop which only had 9,000 BTU (I think). I was looking forward to this high output burner to providing the sizzling of meats when I cook. May have to get rid of the downdraft for exhaust and put a new hood in to buy a real cooktop.

My wife and I recently purchased the Kitchen Aid 5- burner gas cooktop with downdraft venting. We are very pleased with its style, appearance and performance and thus far have not experienced any problems. We previously had a Kitchen Aid electric cooktop installed and converted to the gas cooktop. What a world of difference and glad we made the change.

I bought it about 2 months back and really enjoy the high BTUs. Only downside is burners are much closer than I expected. Also, one thing I would change is make a removable tray for the downdraft filter so easier to clean up the food that falls down
