I just love my new range. I love to cook and this range has all the great features that I was looking for: stainless steel, 5 burners, double oven convection range, ceramic flat top, easily readable controls, and self-cleaning.

I had high expectations for this oven. I had a Kenmore Elite and replaced it to match my other stainless appliances. I would trade back for my Kenmore in an instant. While this Kitchen Aid double oven does have a nice appearance that's where the positive attributes stop. The smaller, upper oven bakes very unevenly, even when rotating the pan. The timer is very hard to hear. The cook top is difficult to clean and scratches very easily.

Convection Roast Not Usable Due To Long Pre-Heat Time

Comments:

I am very unhappy with my Kitchen Aid Double Oven Range. We purchased this range as a premium product specifically for the Convection Roast ability and it is not living up to the standards we expected. The problem is that the Convection Roast setting is taking twice as long to preheat than the Convection Bake or Regular Bake setting. The manual states 12 - 15 minutes to reach 350 degrees. Convection Roast takes 34 minutes to reach 350 degrees and 48 minutes to reach 425, which is the temperature I like to roast vegetables. I called customer service and their representative agreed that this was not right. They sent out two different service company's. After a month and a half of canceled appointments waiting for parts, replaced control panels and days wasted staying home, I was told that this is normal and the oven is working as designed. The fault is that the fan turns on the then off during Convection Roast preheat causing it to take twice as long, where Convection Bake the fan stays on constantly during preheat. This doesn't make any sense and does not seem normal to us. I registered a complaint close to two months ago and was told I would receive a call back. No one called. I spoke to a second representative and she said that they do not call back and there is nothing I can do. So we spent close to $2,000.00, specifically for a convection oven that I can not use. Sure I could wait close to 50 minutes to pre-heat the oven to roast asparagus for 10 minutes, but that's crazy. We were planning to purchase a KitchenAid refrigerator to match the stove, but will not now. Not happy at all!

Love the 2 ovens. Have never had convection before, and yes, it cooks faster, more evenly, and in less time at a lower temperature. Don't be afraid to give the convection cooking a try. The small oven meets our needs for the meals for just the two of us (and saves energy). Looks classy in the kitchen too!

Comments:

We have purchased all KichenAid appliances for our new kitchen and the range has performed excellent! I am not used to food cooking as fast as it does on the range or in the oven! We are able to get our dinner on the table in a reasonable amount of time and I don't feel like I have spent hours on it. I also love the double oven, it saves me from having to figure out how to cook multiple items that have different temperature requirements. We also keep food warm in the top oven if other items are taking longer.

We bought this oven 10 months ago and then one night, it just quit working. Come to find out the electrical cord was not installed properly during manufacturing and it fried out. Luckily it didn't start our house on fire! Now I've been without a stove for 10 days now and the new part is still not in! Very disappointed.

I love everything about my range, the only thing I do not like is that the top black ranges get stain very easy, maybe because it is black and I came from a white one. White believe it or not covers more, specially water stains. But everything else I love it.

Looks very sharp! Love the double oven but it does take a little while to warm up. Have never had a convection oven before so there is a little learning curve to that. Stove heats very quickly so that's great! Only thing that would be better is if the stainless steel was smudge proof!

Only two minor problems with the stove. The first is that the stove top is one quarter inch below the counter level. This is because the installers were afraid to extend the supporting legs any further for fear that they would break. The other is that the whole unit sticks out a couple of inches. This is because it's just that much longer than the counter it was slid into,

Single guy likes the small top oven

I like the handy small top oven. It's a pain to clean the cook top and I had to buy special cooktop cleaner. For a simple glass cooktop, it is very difficult to keep clean. I wish I had the electric ovens and gas cook top. The burners are difficult to get used to and heat up and cool off slowly .

I am on my 2nd one of these in just a month. This one is also going back. The beautiful blue interior is flaking off and breaking. It is unsafe to have all of those particles in the oven. Some of the interior has just broken off in big chips. I am so upset and now am at a loss as to what new stove to get. Its a beautiful oven that cooks great. I have no complaints but the finish quality is bad.
