KitchenAid - kfgd500ess - Ranges > Gas Ranges Description KFGD500ESS KitchenAid 6.0 Cu. Ft. 30" Gas 5 Burner Double Oven Convection Range - Stainless Steel more
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: Got it January 1st. very happy with it. Still need to get used to stainless steel top. Having a hard time keeping the glass on oven doors clean. I roasted a chicken and olive oil splattered and nothing is working to get it off. Only had it 3 weeks still getting used to a new stove after 12 years |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: This beautiful and very functional stove makes our kitchen look very elegant. It is super easy to use, and the double oven is so convenient. We are so happy we chose this kitchen aid appliance. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I bought it two months ago to have a beautiful stove. So far works well as I expected (my previous stove with less than 1/2 price after 12 years is working perfectly). However, it is very hard to clean it. I read about it in the reviews before buying it, but did not pay attention because it was only one review about cleaning. It gets stain even from clean water, and if you use anything other than a soft sponge, you see scratch marks. I don't understand why they used this material for a stove. If I knew, I would not buy this stove. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: Brought this end of year, delivered first week of January. Installed & look beautiful HAVE OUR FIRST SERVICE CALL ALREADY unfortunately. The stove deck after very limited cooking has small spots showing up around the burners. We tried to clean with plastic scrubber but spot almost looks like rust. Concerned this may expand, waiting on service call later this week. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: bought for a tiny condo, fits perfect, does not overheat the kitchen, gorgeous look |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I love it it cooks faster bakes good . |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: We wanted to purchase a high-end stove because we cook quite a bit. Well, we've had this stove a little over a year now. It looks good, but after that it's all down hill. Burner configuration doesn't work well especially if you use 12"+ skillets. The rear controls are set too close (low) to the cooktop causing even medium-sized pans to hit the controls before being centered on the flame. Burner control is poor; you have to look at the flame size because the knob graduations don't produce the expected size flame at each burner. In other words, a knob set on the medium line doesn't give you a medium flame compared to when the knob is set at high. The two ovens do not heat the same...350 in the top is not the same as 350 in the bottom. The broiler is a complete waste of time...the flame is way too small and the door must be closed to use it. I can live with the door having to be closed but the flame size is poor engineering causing it to be unuseable. The timer control is also poorly engineered...when the timer expires, you get a single beep once per minute. If you are not standing next to it (or busy with preparations), you often won't hear it (the timer has other annoying idiosyncrasies that are difficult to put into words, but trust me, you'll dislike the timer). You select the over on the far left but you start/stop the oven on the far right. There is no "cancel" button if you make a typo entering temperatures...your only choice is to turn off the oven and start over...again this is hard to explain, but you'll find out what I'm talking about after you use it for a while. Overall, this stove seems to have be designed by engineers that don't cook passionately. It is rare that we don't utter the phrase "I hate this stove" when we are cooking meals more complex than macaroni and cheese. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: Love my stove only downside was top oven was broken took a few weeks to get it fixed, but was covered completely under warranty. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: Not sure if I was just unlucky but the oven broke in 9 days. The start button wouldn't work on both ovens and one oven you couldn't even get the bake button to work. Called PC Richards since I purchased it from them. They got their money already do didn't seem to put much effort into helping. This happened on a weekend and Kitchen Aid's repair service has short hours on Saturday and don't have anyone working on Sunday. They eventually contracted a company to come out. It ended up being something loose in the motherboard. These new digital motherboards seem to give a lot of problems. When the oven does work my wife and I love it. Gives out a weird smell first few uses but for the most part its easy to use and nice having the double oven. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: Love this oven. Would recommend to all my family and friends |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: bought it a few month ago and have been happy with it |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: My wife is a vegetarian and I an omnivore. It has been great to have two ovens so we can simultaneously make two different dinners. Both oven cook evenly. Thanks! |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I absolutely love my gas range with double ovens!!! Making candy and cooking couldn't be easier. Everything cooks evenly and perfect!!! The ovens are equally awesome. Love the small one on top for cookies, rolls and pizzas. This is my first gas range in 35 years of marriage and don't ever want to go back to electric! Thanks Kitchen Aid!!! |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I'm very happy with my Kitchenaid stove, my previous stove was a 1996 gas glass top Kitchenaid stove which had many of the same features as this new stove. I was very happy with my previous stove which is now in my basement kitchen, only another Kitchenaid would make me happy! I like the heavy cast iron grates, they can handle heavy pots without risk of breaking, I lift both grates at the same time to clean under them, doing so helps me avoid scratching the stainless steel. |
PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: My wife says it looks like kitchen jewelry. I agree, it does look great, now let the cook of the family tell you how it works from the top down. Control Panel: Well laid out, easy to navigate. During oven pre-heat, temperature is displayed as it rises. Really like the "keep warm" setting. Cook Top: Really like the burner layout. The 2 piece grate makes for a stable cooking surface. Easy to remove for cleaning. Ovens: Obviously the real feature of this range, having the independence of 2 ovens. I have used both ovens simultaneously a number of times in the few weeks we've had the range. Having the second oven has made many a meal so much easier. For example: salmon in lower oven @ 300 degrees, asparagus in upper @ 400. Example 2: Turkey out of the oven resting. Mashed potatos and stuffing in lower oven on keep warm setting of 190 degrees, rolls in upper oven @ 350 while finishing gravy on stove top. The lower oven does take some getting used to because of its lowness. It's not as easy to peek in the window at that level. The easy glide main rack is a nice feature to assist in taking heavier dishes in and out. The way I see it; it's a small trade-off for the convenience of having 2 ovens. |
