Comments:

With exception of left rear cooktop burner, the difference between high and low flame is minimal. In order to simmer anything on the other burners, pan must be removed from center of burner and place off to side where only over a portion of the flame.

Item arrived missing the thermo probe. One call to customer service and they shipped the part to me within days. The range works very well. Still getting use to the features. All good so far.

We bought this range and first had a ton of issues with the front burner. We had the gas pressure to the stove adjusted to get it to work right. It still flickers on simmer so we don't turn the dial all the way to the end. It use to go out and release gas into the house and it hasn't done that anymore and we now are careful not to turn it all the way to the lowest setting. The first time I used the oven was fine then the 2nd time one of the light bulbs blew out when I opened the oven door it burst in front of my eyes. Second light was fine. We after many attempts and months of waiting got a repair man out to fix it. He gave us new bulbs to try. Each time the oven light still would blow out when opening the oven door after 2-3 oven uses. The guy came out again and changed out some small part. Once again it blew out so he ordered a whole new light and connections. Then the opposite light blew out after 2 uses and then after 4 uses both oven lights were blown out. Now I have been cooking with no oven lights at all and kitchen aid claims there is nothing wrong with their unit. Do not buy this if you aren't afraid of scrubbing hard in the oven- the "new cleaning technology" is worthless. The small oven on the bottom holds a pie and can't be a tall pie and it takes just as long to back as the main oven. It's not great and not worth purchasing it just for that feature. The 30" stove top is so small for 5 burners- 4 would be better and the hot plate it comes with is not built to cover a big span so I had to buy a larger one to be able to cook enough French toast or pancakes at once to not take the entire morning cooking them. As far as looks...it looks nice and the window is large and the double lights when they do work help to see in without opening the oven door. I would NOT purchase this unit again. I should've listened to the consumer reports reviews...this oven was ranked in the middle. Also it bakes cookies uneven with either oven method.

I just replaced my electric oven with this one. So far I love it. Still did not try all the features. I will keep you posted. I do love the large baking area and baking drawer. No waisted space on this oven.

Not the best of choices

Comments:

Since this unit was installed last May 2016, it has required 4-5 service calls over a six month period (October 2016 to March 2017) just to get the front burner to work properly. Today it will be another 1-2 service visits to repair the oven (parts need to be ordered). Nothing like being in the midst of preparing dinner for a crowd only to find the oven doesn't work. This unit is barely a year old, and because of the excessive number of service calls in the first six months since installation, I purchased the extended warranty program just in case (good thing too because it looks like this appliance is woefully unreliable). This is the most expensive range I've ever purchased in three decades and so far, it is also the worse. It just goes to show that a higher price on an item doesn't necessarily mean better quality. Very disappointed.

natural gas isn't available in our area, so we had to have a propane tank installed and lines run to the house - this appliance is beautiful, makes cooking a breeze, clean-up is even easier and extra small oven on the bottom is a big plus

Comments:

Wireless meat probe was not with the range. In trying to obtain one, learned that this was a common problem. Despite being told one would be sent, after several months do not have one. Generally like the range, although I wish more burners had a simmer feature. The low setting on the others is too high, and goes out if turned down too much.

New from the box, delivered, this oven would not turn on because of a defective fan. The part was ordered and replaced on day 7 post delivery. KitchenAid should extend our warranty, by a few weeks. The delivery man forgot to change the fittings from natural gas, to lp gas. Realizing this on week two with sooty pan bottoms, and lowest setting burning everything....the repairman calling back and set up a date to change this out on the following week, into week 4 now,...just want to say We love the dual fuel. No regrets there! Now to get to cooking!! Oh wait, the wireless probe that this 900ESS comes with is missing. one call to Kitchen Aid customer service promises tho it is on back order should reach us in a week to ten days. The set looks beautiful in our remodeled kitchen. Four major high-end appliances! Stay tuned, we hope for better luck and that we are done with all those little side anoyances!!!!!!! Be sure to take care when cleaning as this item will scratch easily!!! Button settings are a low performance in my opinion but for all the rest of the design it is great!! We entertain very often. Old culinary love for the kitchen couple here as we are heading into our retirement age with a huge family!
