Comments:

I have never been more frustrated with a product and its company, and it sounds like enough people have had a similar experience that we should begin class action lawsuits and at the very least report to the Better Business Bureau. I began using my dishwasher mid June, and by early July it had broken with the AE error code. I scheduled a repair visit and it took over 2 weeks for an opening in my area despite LG support on the phone "scheduling" an appointment for me that same week. The service technician "fixed it", but after he left the cycle stopped mid-wash and it was broken again. Another two weeks waiting, another day of missed work to wait for the technician, another attempted repair that didn't work. After the third time and about 2 months of hand washing dishes with our brand new dishwasher, we decided to call LG back. They handed us over to a different service company, who similarly had three visits, each about two weeks apart, and finally on the third time the AE error code was fixed. For three weeks we have been able to finally use our brand new dishwasher, and then yesterday during a cycle it stopped with the HE error code this time. After an hour on the phone with several different staff and their supervisors, they are refusing to refund me or replace the unit. My warranty runs out in a month, we cannot afford to lose any more days off of work waiting for service professionals, and I am an elementary teacher who doesn't have the money to buy a brand new dishwasher (again). Either they are knowingly holding my money for a defective product and are running a scam of a company, or they feel that a brand new product that has worked only several weeks out of 5 months of use is an acceptable level of quality for a customer to have paid for. Either way, I have never had a worse experience. And by the way, the brand new washing machine we bought by them at the same time also broke, but only took 3 service visits to fix (though now it shakes).

Bought this dishwasher about 6 weeks ago. I read reviews before the purchase and was a little apprehensive. The folding tines took some time to figure out what would work best, but this dishwasher has been a good addition to our kitchen. About some of the "death reviews" that I read.....some people really need to find something to gripe about. Some of the complaints were just that....complaints. I have had no bad experiences with this LG product.

Before I start let me tell you that I have many LG products. Two air conditioners, a washer and drier, an electric range, and a microwave. I have always looked at LG first when buying appliances, and have always been satisfied. This dishwasher is my first disappointment. When you open the door the control panel does not light up until you start to use it. When it is operating the control panel stays lit under the counter top where it can not be used.. It also has a blinking bright blue light that is like a light house in the kitchen. It would make more sense for the light to blink when the dishwasher is finished. Instead the light goes out at the end. Not deal breakers yet. The real issues are the racks. The top rack is for flat pieces and is on eight wheels none of which point in the same direction making it difficult to pull in and out. The middle rack is for glasses and small things. It is not really a friendly rack and many times the glasses do not stay where they belong. I have tried many configurations and none work. The silverware rack again is not really friendly. The bottom rack is the real problem. There is no good place for bowls or small plates. The large plates sort of fit but there is no support and a slight bump will cause them to fall over like dominoes. Again I have tried many configurations to no avail.

We have several LG items in our home and are very happy with them. When my dishwasher broke, I went with the LG due to the quality of the other products. This is the worst dishwasher that I have ever owned. The extra dry feature does nothing to dry the dishes. I need to hand dry everything in the top rack. The 3rd rack doesn't get anything clean, and the bottom rack is constantly coming out of alignment. I also can't believe that there is no "clean" light after the cycle is finished so that we know not to put dirty dishes in a clean load. There is a chime to signal that the dishes are clean but that only helps if you happen to be standing in the kitchen at that exact moment.

Purchased a package of LG appliances last month. Before purchasing I read a number of reviews and so many were negative. I had all my appliances professionally installed by the appliance dealer; the dishwasher was hooked up correctly, was in correct balance. I am impressed with customer service access, the warranty of the manufacturer. I also purchased an extended warranty. I used the dishwasher for the first time a couple of days ago. I could not believe how quietly ti operates. I had talks with customer service during the operation of the dishwasher to explain what I was seeing on the panel during the cycle running. They couldn't have been more helpful, clarified my questions. With the help of Customer Service it became easy to use as initially I was so not clear as to how all of the panels operated and what the symbols meant. This model, 7774, exceeds my expectations: it is extremely quiet; it drys the dishes completely; the soap dispenser emptied as it should; and it drains properly - much to my relief - because of the negative reviews that talked about these particular issues. I am not totally nuts about those collapse-able tings or plate supports and think they are a bit flimsy but the dishwasher itself is great so far in this short use time. I look forward to years of service from this appliance.

Just got this brand new dishwasher and love everything about it. Its very good at doing its job, is great at organizing all the dirty dishware inside the dishwasher. The only reason why this is not a 5-Star review is because after installing the dishwasher, there was a small leak due to a screw inside the faceplate that forced water to leak out of the side. LG was very quick to get a repairman out here to fix the issue, and now it works as you would expect it too. Great job by LG to get everything taken care of as quickly as they did, and still a great product!

I bought this dishwasher 3 months ago to replace an older lg dishwasher that I bought 11 years ago that finally cooked out after 4 repairs. This new dishwasher even though the decibel level was a lot lower is actually noisy, the trays even make noise, my old one you couldn't tell it was even on. The 3rd tray for silverware is convenient but doesn't pull out or inwith ease. It's a beautiful dishwasher but the features and tray need to be upgraded.

One of a few that fits a small cut-out.

Comments:

We purchased this dishwasher a month ago as part of a package of kitchen appliances. We chose this dishwasher solely because it would fit in a cut out that was only 33.5" tall which we needed due to the tile in the kitchen. The cycle times are very long. On average over 2 hrs. can be up to 3+ hours if you want extra drying time. Also there is no heating element in the washer and dishes are dried using remaining ambient heat from the water used. I'm sure this is very energy efficient but it does not dry dished very well. Additionally you have to use Jet-Dry rinse aid to assist in the drying process. In order to get my dishes dry I have to use the Extra-Dry setting. The 'High Water Temp" feature will not activate on my unit. A number of features require you to press 2 buttons simultaneously to activate. This has proved very difficult to do. There are a number of features that you have to read the manual to find out which 2 buttons to push to get them to activate. The unit has a chime that goes off at the end of the cycle and continues to go off until the unit is opened or turned off. Supposedly this is to warn you of the high temps inside the unit. When we activate the unit when going to bed (energy costs are lower at non-peak hours) this chime wakes up our dog in the middle of the night. We have not been able to figure out how to silence this chime yet. Over-all, this is a difficult to use dishwasher and not what we expected.

Poor design . Control are difficult to see. Tines won't hold up dishes result in poor cleaning. My 20 year old Maytag put this to shame. If I could ,I would return this machine in a second!
